Corpus Christi is located on the Texas gulf coast. The South Texas city is the eighth-largest in the state and home to attractions like the Texas State Aquarium, the USS Lexington and the King Ranch. The city is fondly known as the Sparkling City by the Sea and its beaches attract thousands of visitors annually.

The Port of Corpus Christi is the sixth largest port in the nation and is active in the city economy. The port provides close to 40,000 jobs for the community. Because of its location, the city has become a place where fishing guides, bait merchants, fishing supply retailers, watercraft retailers and marine biologists have set up shop for business. Other high areas of employment are in the services field, wholesale and retail trade, and government sectors.

The area is popular for waterfowl hunting, fishing, wind surfing, kite boarding and other water and outdoor recreation. The beaches of Corpus Christi attract crowds for occasions like Spring Break and summer vacations. Popular beach spots are the Padre Island National Seashore, JP Luby Surf Park and Packery Channel, Bob Hall Pier, McGee Beach, and Corpus Christi Beach, formerly known as North Beach. The perfect Corpus Christi visit can be started with toes in the sand and a drink in hand at one of these beautiful beaches.
